Endometriosis New Zealand co-founder Deborah Bush MNZM, QSM has been internationally recognised for her work supporting people living with endometriosis, receiving the Most Pioneering Women’s Health Expert honour at Global Health & Pharma’s 2025 Women’s Health Awards.
Bush co-founded Endometriosis New Zealand in 1985 after her own diagnosis revealed how little information, support, or coordinated care existed at the time. What began as a small regional support network has grown into a national charity dedicated to education, advocacy, and support for those affected by endometriosis. Speaking on RNZ’s Nine to Noon, Deborah reflected on Endometriosis NZ’s journey as well as the ongoing challenges facing those with the condition today.
Deborah’s work continues to influence policy, clinical practice, and public awareness both in New Zealand and internationally, and we heartily congratulate her on the award.
