The Sending You Happiness Project, is inspired by the artwork and designs the late Hazel Guyan. The project brings together art, fashion and community to raise awareness of the condition.
The gala will feature a short fashion show of garments inspired by the artwork of Hazel, created by graduates of the Otago Polytechnic School of Design, alongside dinner, an auction, live music, and other merchandise.
Other merchandise will be available for purchase online including gift cards, hand crafted cups and Tees. Co-founders Lichelle Guyan and Becky Dennison say although the event is about raising funds, they hope the project sparks a conversation that improves understanding of the condition.
Funds raised will support ENZ’s education programmes, which provide trusted, evidence-based information to communities across Aotearoa. These programmes help people recognise symptoms earlier, navigate treatment options, and access support — all of which can significantly change long term outcomes.
