Katherine Ellis is a researcher at the University of Canterbury. In early 2021 she approached the academic in charge of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Canterbury (Deborah Munro) and expressed an interest in starting a research project focusing on applying engineering principles to endometriosis research.
Early this year Katherine, along with lecturers, Deborah Munro, and Rachel Wood completed an anonymous online focus group/survey study with 50 endometriosis patients in New Zealand where they answered a series of questions about their experiences, perspectives, and research priorities.
The research, The experiences of endometriosis patients with diagnosis and treatment in New Zealand, has now been published.
This study and its findings were written by Katherine Ellis. The information and language used throughout the research does not necessarily reflect the opinions and beliefs of Endometriosis New Zealand.
